FAQ
What is Creamy Radio?
The Greatest Internet Radio Station ever. For more information please see the About Us section.
How Do I Tune In?
Tuning in is easy as soon as you have a compatible player, such as Winamp. Once installed any player such as WinAmp, iTunes, Windows Media Player and JetAudio should recognize our Tune In links in the above right. MP3 feeds are for any player compatible with MP3s, WMA will work in many players but is specifically designed for Windows Media Player. If you need further assistance please use our Contact Form to contact us directly and we’ll do our best to assist.
What Players Are Compatible?
Most common MP3 capable players will work just fine. We recommend Winamp because it’s the gold standard. Other known compatible players include JetAudio, iTunes and Windows Media Player. Linux users should stop trying to hack our server and use XMMS.
How Can I Tune In On My iPhone/iPod Touch?
You will first need a player. We currently recommend CastCatcher, which you can find in the App Store. From there you will simply need to add Creamy Radio as a station in CastCatcher.
For the iPod Touch use this tune-in URL: http://fw.creamyradio.com
For listening from the AT&T Mobile Network use this tune-in URL: http://creamyradio.com:8015
We also recommend going into the iPhone’s settings for CastCatcher and cranking up the buffer, especially if listening on the cellular network.
I’m Having Problems Tuning In, What Should I Do?
Make sure you have a fast enough Internet connection for the feed you are attempting to tune into. Generally if you have less than a DSL or Cable connection you will need to use the 32Kbs feeds. Also, if you are at work or a business, try the firewall-friendly feed as it is designed to be accessible from such locations. If you have a problem beyond that contact us with the details and we will help you get hooked up.
Why Doesn’t The 32Kbs Feed Sound As Good As The 128Kbs?
This is a lower bitrate feed for modem connections. It, by design, will not sound as good as the CD quality 128Kbs feeds.
What Is MP3Pro/AAC+ and How Do I Use Them?
MP3Pro and AAC+ are special types of feeds that allow us to obtain higher sound quality from lower bitrates. While you can listen to this lower bitrate feed with any player mentioned above, if you use an MP3Pro/AAC+ capable player it will sound much better. These feeds are generally used for persons with lower connection speeds (below DSL/Cable) and for Mobile Devices like iPhones or other smartphones.
How Can I Get You To Add (Insert Band Name) To The Creamy Radio Rotation?
The simplest way is to send us a link where we can hear the music.
I Want To Submit/Donate Music To Creamy Radio. How Can I?
You can submit an original CD to our address:
Creamy Radio
PO Box 25365
Tempe, AZ 85285
We normally cannot accept burned CD copies or MP3s. If you are an artist who does not have a CD release, you can email us for submission alternatives.
Why Doesn’t My Request Play Right Away, or At All?
Creamy Radio must adhere to certain rules in regard to our broadcast licensing. Some of these rules specify how frequently we can play a given song, or various songs from the same artist or album. Normally the system will tell you this when you request a song. If not, it should play it soon.
As well, requests are played at our discretion. For various reasons we may not play a given song, but we try as much as possible to honor requests, so keep them coming!
