Record Store Day is this Saturday, April 17. The annual event celebrates independent records stores across the nation. In a world of digital downloads and super mega chains, it’s nice to support the hundreds of records stores still serving as great places for folks to discover and discuss music.

Participating artists include Creamy mainstays Ani DiFranco, Black Keys, Drive-By Truckers, Flogging Molly, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, the Hold Steady, Magnetic Fields, Phoenix, R.E.M., Soundgarden, Tegan & Sara, The Bird & the Bee, TV on the Radio, Wilco, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and more.

Our good friends over at SprayGraphic are hosting The Lost Album Art Show starting on April 10th. The show will feature re-imagined album covers from around the globe. Each artist takes their favorite album or band and imagines a new album cover. Sounds pretty cool to us. The show will feature all original artwork from around the world created on the medium of a vinyl record at Hoodlums Music and Movies in Tempe, AZ.

The show is sponsored by our friends at Spray Graphic, a community for artists, and they’re also looking for artists!!! You can submit your own vinyl artwork for consideration by checking out all the info and submission guidelines.
